- The Rockhouse Hotel, W End Rd, Negril, Jamaica W.I.
- Price guide: $$$$$
- We loved: The range of room types and price points (for limited budgets, there is an option for $200/night or less in off-season; we stayed in a room at $300/night off-season, $600/night high-season); the eclectic melting-pot of guests thanks to the range of price-points, which creates an unpretentious and relaxing atmosphere; the variety of eating and drinking venues within walking distance; and, above all, the lack of a beach. (We were sore about this at first, until we realized it's not a shortcoming but a plus. Jumping off cliffs and swimming in the glistening ocean turns out to be a whole lot more fun than flopping around on the beach. Who'd have thunk it.)
