Why should you trust us?

The Swank Guide has partnered with Booking.com and Tripadvisor to provide easy booking links for the hotels we recommend. Why? Because it ensures we can get you the lowest price, and it helps us continue to bring you empowering and entertaining content.

This new booking feature does not signal a change in our total editorial independence or in our status as a fully fan-supported business. Simply put: we have no financial relationship with any hotel or experience we recommend. We do not accept bags of cash, Dodgers tickets, sacrificial animals or blushing flatteries. The only way to get recommended by Swank is if we've tried it, loved it and would recommend it to our family and friends.

Swank you!

If your idea of a good time involves luxe tented suites, claw-foot tubs, and the occasional tiger sighting, then the Oberoi Vanyavilas Wildlife Resort might be the escape you’ve been waiting for. Set just outside Ranthambhore National Park (home to a large population of Bengal Tigers), this retreat is about a three-hour drive from Jaipur’s airport, making it remote enough for a true getaway, but accessible enough to avoid a small plane adventure.

With only 25 tents spread over 20 acres, even a full house here feels like you’ve got the place to yourself. Each suite comes with a private garden, so you can relax in peace before hitting the pool, spa, or yoga pavilion. The observation tower is perfect for catching views of the park (binoculars optional) and, for the true adventure seekers, the resort can organize a sunrise safari into Ranthambhore, though private tours come at a steep price.

Dining? There’s just one restaurant, but it covers all the bases with both Indian and Western dishes, so you can get your butter-chicken fix alongside your morning eggs. You can dine indoors or out, though fair warning: the “outdoor” courtyard is enclosed by high walls, which can feel a bit more fortress than open-air. With that said, the resort might just surprise you with a private meal out on the lawn.

This might be perfect for you if you’re after some old-world glamor, with a side of adventure and pampering.
