Why should you trust us?

The Swank Guide has partnered with Booking.com and Tripadvisor to provide easy booking links for the hotels we recommend. Why? Because it ensures we can get you the lowest price, and it helps us continue to bring you empowering and entertaining content.

This new booking feature does not signal a change in our total editorial independence or in our status as a fully fan-supported business. Simply put: we have no financial relationship with any hotel or experience we recommend. We do not accept bags of cash, Dodgers tickets, sacrificial animals or blushing flatteries. The only way to get recommended by Swank is if we've tried it, loved it and would recommend it to our family and friends.

  • Nayara Tented Camp, Nayara Gardens, de, Alajuela Province, La Fortuna, Costa Rica
  • Price guide: $$$$$

The Nayara Tented Camp is a luxe resort nestled in the heart of Costa Rica’s Arenal Volcano National Park. The resort has 29 over-the-top luxe, air-conditioned, tents that blend with the surrounding rainforest. Each tent is perched on a hillside with great views of the majestic Arenal Volcano.

The tents at Nayara Tented Camp are designed with comfort and style in mind. Inside, you’ll find plush four-poster beds, massive bathrooms with indoor and outdoor showers, and a private terrace with a heated plunge pool (it was too hot for us) fed by natural mineral hot springs. The resort’s main area includes a large infinity pool, a yoga pavilion, and a spa offering treatments inspired by the natural surroundings.

The resort’s main restaurant has a middle eastern theme but you have a lot of dining options here as the resort is connected to two sister properties and the staff is happy to whisk you away on a golf cart to one of the many dining options here. Guests can also enjoy private dining experiences, such as a romantic dinner on their tent’s terrace or a picnic in the rainforest.

The resort is in the Arenal Volcano national park, so there are lots of opportunities for adventure, including hiking, birdwatching, and visits to nearby hot springs and waterfalls.
