The Makai Villas at Nalu Nosara are a great example of modern design meeting to-die-for views of the Pacific. Located on a hillside overlooking the Pacific Ocean, these villas were crafted by Benjamin Garcia Saxe, Costa Rica’s most famous architect. Each villa features three spacious bedrooms, each with its own ensuite bathroom. The open-concept design blends indoor and outdoor living spaces, with large sliding doors that open up to jaw-dropping ocean views.
These villas offer a luxe retreat, complete with a private pool for refreshing dips under the Costa Rican sun. The pool area is equipped with a dining table, fridge, and sink, making it a good spot for alfresco meals and entertaining. The villas are situated a short distance from the town of Nosara, known for its laid-back surf culture and beautiful beaches. While the beach is accessible by a 15 to 18-minute walk, it involves navigating some steep stairs, crossing a busy road, and strolling down dusty streets… We recommend hydrating first.
Amenities at the Makai Villas include air conditioning, high-speed internet, and a fully equipped kitchen, although guests should be aware that basic cooking supplies like salt, coffee, and cooking oil are not provided (annoying, right?). For those seeking relaxation and wellness, Nalu Nosara’s main complex down the hill has a yoga studio with daily classes. Whether you’re looking to unwind by the pool, explore the local surf scene, or simply enjoy the views, the Makai Villas offer a unique and upscale escape in one of Costa Rica’s most picturesque locations.
