Stuff You Should Know

The coffee may make you question Danish design excellence (bring your own beans, thank us later), and yes, that hot tub you’re craving exists only in your imagination. But when you’re suspended above Lysefjord in a feat of architectural derring-do, such earthly concerns feel irrelevant. Full kitchen means self-catering – the nearest store is 15 minutes away, and the restaurants in the same town are underwhelming, so channel your inner Norwegian prepper.

Pro tip: Beside the Pulpit Rock hike, there’s a good hiking trail that goes right by the property, but there are ladders and mud involved, so be prepared. Pulpit rock is 20 minutes by car (Norway’s most iconic tourist spot… or one of them at least), that’s about a 2 hour hike one-way, and moderately to fairly steep in parts…. But it’s worth it. There’s a cafe at the base of the hike and paid parking at trailhead.

Your Kitchen, Your Rules (Just BYO Coffee)

VIPP designed the kitchen to perfection, then someone stocked it with coffee that tastes like a practical joke. BYO beans and milk, unless you enjoy your morning views with a side of regret. The fully equipped kitchen invites culinary adventure – good thing, since the nearest restaurant requires a 15-minute scenic drive. Stock up like you’re preparing for a stylish siege; the local grocery store plays hard to get with the same 15-minute commitment. At least the designer water glasses make tap water feel fancy.
