This isn’t the most private resort—there’s light foot traffic from the beach, and occasionally non-guests wander in and make themselves at home on the loungers. And while prices are great in shoulder and low season, they can creep up in high season and feel just a bit steep. That said, the vibe is relaxed and friendly, with just enough polish. You’ll find paddleboards, kayaks, spa salas tucked away by the adults-only pool, and the kind of staff who actually remember your name. Not a party scene, not overly fancy. Just a really good spot for a laid-back escape.

Food + Drink On-site surprises
Sala Samui keeps it simple with one all-day beachfront restaurant serving up both Thai and Western menus. You can dine on the shaded deck, under a canvas tent, or right by the sand. The food is solid—nothing avant-garde, but well-executed and satisfying. They start you off with a complimentary amuse bouche, and both the papaya salad and green curry were standouts. Sunset drinks are best had at the low-key beach bar tucked between the pool and the sand. No DJ sets or tasting menus here—just honest food, nice cocktails, and a view that does most of the work.
