Vibes
Artful Tuscan Hideaway
Monteverdi is remote by design. It sits in Castiglioncello del Trinoro, about 10 minutes from Sarteano, 90 minutes from Florence and two hours from Rome Fiumicino Airport. The final approach includes a gravel road through the Val d’Orcia, and the hotel recommends private transfer or car. This is not a conventional resort layout: rooms, restaurants, spa, gallery and village life are spread across several buildings. Great for 2–3 nights, design lovers, food people and slow Tuscan days; less ideal if you want easy walk-out access to a busy town.

Food + Drink On-site surprises
Monteverdi has two main restaurant personalities. Zita is the everyday anchor in the heart of the village, serving classic Tuscan dishes like homemade pasta with a rich garlic-tomato sauce, traditional Tuscan flatbread with sausage and sautéed greens, and charcoal-grilled meats. Oreade is the fine-dining side — a newer, more ambitious restaurant built around Tuscany’s culinary history and the landscape. Drinks spread across the Lobby Lounge & Terrace Bar and Library Bar, both leaning into the view, the fireplace-or-terrace rhythm, and slow aperitivo energy. The Culinary Academy adds cooking experiences, from pasta-making to cheese-making, for guests who want the food story to go beyond dinner.
