The rooms channel corporate hospitality meets tropical getaway – think Hilton goes to jungle finishing school. Staff apparently have VIP access to the funicular (you’ll wait). Restaurant menu tries to be everything to everyone, succeeding at being decidedly adequate (7/10). The clouds put on a better show than dinner, especially at dusk.
Getting anywhere requires riding the resort’s temperamental funicular, which adds adventure to even the simplest journey to the bar. Skip it if stairs aren’t your love language or if you require immediate evacuation from happy hour. Located about 25 minutes from Ubud, this is a secluded retreat with limited nearby dining options, so most meals are in-house. The spa offers treatments incorporating local traditions, perfect for relaxing after exploring the jungle surroundings.

Food + Drink On-site surprises
One restaurant trying to be all things to all people (spoiler: it can’t). Menu spans continents but somehow forgets it’s in Indonesia. Breakfast with a valley view almost makes up for the eerily silent dining room (someone please plug in a playlist). Poolside bar serves adequate sustenance between Instagram shoots. Dinner earns a solid 7/10 – like a C+ student with excellent attendance. Candlelit pool area after dark proves someone in F&B has a romantic streak. Given the remote location, you’re rather stuck with these options unless you fancy a 25-minute drive to civilization. At least the cloud show provides dinner theater.
