Stuff You Should Know

That gorgeous hike to your nest? It's actually a 45-minute vertical challenge that makes elevator appreciation a core value. Pack like you're planning to avoid civilization (you are) - the nearest store is a round-trip adventure.

Your reward? A bed that dramatically descends from the ceiling on cables, a wooden bathtub that makes plastic look positively pedestrian, and views that include both fjord drama and an aluminum smelter (this is where that complimentary wine comes in handy). But seriously, the smelter far in the distance is not a buzz kill. Pro tip: Arrive before sunset.

Your Kitchen, Your Cardio

The kitchenette comes fully equipped for culinary ambition (minus an oven - hot takes only here). Pre-order breakfast delivery to avoid your first vertical commute, or embrace the full tree-dweller experience and stock up before ascent. The nearest restaurant requires a 45-minute descent that makes delivery drivers laugh in Norwegian. There's coffee, but BYO milk unless you fancy your morning brew noir. The tap water's excellent - one less thing to haul uphill. Think of it as a self-catering situation where forgetting ingredients requires either impressive improvisation or impressive thigh muscles.
