Stuff You Should Know

Welcome to Costa Rica's hottest new social experiment, where privacy is optional and the pool crowd provides free entertainment. The ground floor rooms offer an innovative take on reality TV – starring you (we’ll get you a room upstairs, you’re welcome). Surf lessons and yoga classes help justify the scene-y vibe, while the food program might be the best reason to brave the reservation hustle.

Free afternoon cookies soften the blow of discovering your room is more fishbowl than fortress. Pro tip: Request an upper floor unless you're auditioning for Nosara's next hit reality show. Like most Costa Rica beach hotels, you can't see the beach; it’s a 2 min walk down a path. Recent villa additions give you more room, and privacy, options.

Food and drink

Food + Drink On-site surprises

Scene-stealing cuisine that lives up to the hype

The restaurant has mastered that rare art of being both see-and-be-seen and actually worth seeing. By day, a coffee cart provides caffeinated salvation, while the main restaurant buzzes from breakfast through dinner with Nosara's most ambitious menu. The clever free snack program (morning pastries, afternoon cookies) feels like a considerate apology for making you compete for dinner reservations. When you do score that coveted table, though, the kitchen delivers Costa Rica's best answer to the question "Can boutique hotels actually cook?" Spoiler alert: yes, they can, and rather brilliantly at 8/10. Also, you’re a short walk to Nosara’s many restaurant options, down dusty roads of course.
