- We loved: The hotel's location on the first planned square in Paris, offering effortless access to the Marais and all its restaurant, shopping and nightlife options; the exquisite, unique or just plain clever design touches in our bedroom (including the state-protected ceiling, 400 years old; the lacquered finish on the wood panelling; the hide-away cooking facilities; the Japanese heated toilet seat); strolling the hotel's hallways studded with art and sculpture; the subterranean Roman thermal bath. (Our tip: book ahead but, with only 11 other rooms competing for bath access, don't sweat it. At least not until you're in the water.)

The Cour des Vosges Paris is located on the postcard-perfect Place des Vosges. This 17th century historical landmark has been turned into a stylish and sophisticated 12-room boutique hotel with hip, 70s-influenced interior design that still manages to respect the building’s original design and architecture.
The hotel’s in the Marais, the Swank Guide’s favorite Paris neighborhood. Directly outside the gates of the square, you’ll find tons of shopping, restaurants and nightlife. In the Place des Vosges itself, there are restaurants, cafes and art galleries galore. This is one of the best located hotels on Swank’s list of best Paris hotels.
