Stuff You Should Know

Located in Bali's personal rain cloud, where "afternoon drizzle" is considered part of the wellness program. The compound-style living means sharing some spaces with other seekers of serenity (unless you spring for a private villa, but all villas have expansive private ereas). White water rafters provide occasional soundtracks to your meditation. The hillside location means your Fitbit will think you've taken up mountaineering. Skip it if stairs aren't your thing. Just 15 minutes from Ubud (add another 15 if local construction decides to redecorate the road with sand).

Food and drink

Food + Drink On-site surprises

Where clean eating meets actual flavor

Two restaurants that prove wellness cuisine isn't just expensive rabbit food. The main venue channels modern-meets-Balinese design while serving food that makes virtue taste like vice. Indonesian menu gets a solid 9/10 - turns out the eighth-most populous country knows its way around a kitchen. There's even a bar (gasp!) for those who believe mental wellness includes occasional cocktails. When the green juice gets too intense, escape to their sister property Uma's Italian restaurant in Ubud - because sometimes wellness means pasta. Breakfast spans both venues, proving that morning people might be onto something after all.
