Stuff You Should Know

Children are "welcome" but not really. If coming with kids we’d recommend the sister property, the Silica. The dining situation requires either a platinum card or a 20-minute drive to civilization, with the breakfast buffet standing as the sole democratic meal option. The occasional entitled guest treating staff like NPCs in their personal luxury simulation can dampen the zen, but the architecture is too busy being breathtaking to notice. Under-9s are banned from rooms with water access. It’s expensive.

Food and drink

Food + Drink On-site surprises

Buffet breakfast dreams, à la carte realities

The good news: breakfast is a buffet masterpiece. The bad news: everything else requires either a seven-minute pilgrimage to Lava Restaurant or settling for pre-packaged sushi that feels like a punchline in a place this expensive. The bar exists to help you forget about dinner options, while room service stands ready to deliver cheese plates that cost more than your first car. Lunch is also available in the spa.
