Food and drink

Food + Drink On-site surprises

Four Bars, One Restaurant, and a Rooftop That Steals the Show

The drinking here outshines the dining — and that's not a complaint. Lyaness, the ground-floor cocktail bar from Mr Lyan, has landed on the World's 50 Best Bars list with creative drinks that make conventional cocktail menus look lazy. The Sea Containers Restaurant serves seasonal, sharing-style plates overlooking the Thames — solid for lunch, especially on the riverside terrace watching boats and Londoners drift by. But the real star is 12th Knot, the rooftop bar with panoramic city views through a wall of glass. Friday night up here, drink in hand, London glittering below — that's the moment you remember. Four bars in one hotel is a problem I'm happy to have.
